Day 17 Castrojeriz to Frómista 18 miles (35,000 steps ).
Today was a relatively long day but fairly easy. We had one really long climb uphill with a steep downhill but it was early morning so we were rested.

Long climb!
Monument on the trail.
Young family we have been walking with from Nevada. They took their 9 and 10 year old daughters out of school for a year to walk the way!! They plan to walk to Santiago then on to Finestiere and then spend more time in Europe! What a great experience.🥰 The girls are so cute and have to eat chocolate at every opportunity!

Beautiful fields along the way.

More monuments !

For about the last 5 km we walked along this beautiful canal!

We were treated to a beautiful pilgrim concert at the local cathedral! Just beautiful music.

We finished the evening with a pilgrims dinner with our friend Deb from Delaware. She plans to join me in Baltimore in November for our friends giving at Dorian’s!
Tomorrow we walk to Carrion to see the singing nuns!
Buen Camino!!
Gorgeous country
