Day 25 Villadangos to Astorga 20 miles (48,700 steps)
We have arrived in Astorga which means we have finished our final full day on the meseta, and we could see the landscape change before us, we had a few more hills and could see the beautiful mountains ahead of us!
side note: Oh last we played Escoba, the Spanish card game I bought, not sure who won but we had fun!
Escoba in the bar!

We left very early this morning, 5:30 am to be exact as we knew we had a long day, just outside of town where we needed to turn on our headlamps, mine died😥
It was so dark and scary, I tried to use my phone but it was difficult as I wanted to use my poles for security. I ended up just following Amy and her light and it worked out well. As soon as we got to Astorga I bought a new headlight. 🥰

Stopped at a wonderful cafe in this town and had one of the best cups of coffee and a Spanish tortilla, by the time we left the sun was coming up and relieved my anxiety about walking in the dark.
( by the way the sun comes up here now around 8:15 am)
We are officially in the 200 km range!!

The famous bridge in Puenta del Paso Honroso where historically hosted jousting tournaments in the region. We had a nice rest in this little town.

Fun random pics along the way, this is me filling my water pack at the thirsty pilgrims water fountain.

We are in Astorga !

The Camino is this way🤣!
Ancient ruins that have been discovered and preserved.
Because we had such a long day, we decided to just buy food for dinner and eat in so we can go to bed early and we have laundry on the line.
Okay so now I am so excited for the next few days. Tomorrow we will be in Rabanal and then Wednesday we will be at the Cruz de Ferro where I will leave all the burdens behind, and not only for myself but also for others who have given me a special stone to leave🥰
Good night and Buen Camino!
❤️❤️
