Day 7- the long walk to Torres Del Rio

We started out early again today to begin a long day of walking and using our head lamp. At about the 5 km mark my left knee buckled and I almost fell. It really hurt. We took a few minutes for me to recover, put some icy hot on and I took some pain relief meds. I continued on for another 5 km and we all felt the best thing to do was for me to take a cab to our destination, ice and elevate and be ready for tomorrow. While I waited for the cab Amy met up with some of our Camino family and decided to walk with them. I arrived early to our alburge and checked us in. I Took a nap and headed to the pool for some much needed water therapy. I met new friends from Germany and waited for Amy.

Beautiful sunrise this morning on our climb from Estella.

The wine fountain.

Taking a rest. I thought about taking a cab here but wanted to walk a little more. I was very proud that when I did call the cab I was able to explain what I needed in Spanish!😀

The pool was very cold and just what my knee needed!!

After pool time I took a moment for refreshment, I cannot tell you how good the olives here taste!!! I met people from France and we worked on our Spanish together 🙃.

Amy arrived!

pilgrims dinner with our friends from Germany !

Festival in the plaza!

Tomorrow we are heading to Logroño.

Buen Camino!
