Day 33 Portamarin to Palas de Rei - 17 miles (37,000 steps).

looking at the full moon through the trail. We left in the dark again today and were treated to a beautiful full moon as well as a lovely sunrise. Once again the trail was very busy with a huge increase in the number of pilgrims. We mostly walked through farm lands but there were also plenty of places to stop and get coffee and food.

I did manage to find a couple of nice spots to lay more ashes.

We walked through a lot of small towns with very old buildings. The trails are just magnificent in this region.

We stopped at this very cool bohemian style cafe. The vibe felt just right and we had a beer and a nice lunch with Deb.

We also stopped along the trail where a woman was giving out little sayings and stamping our credentials.

This is the one for me, it actually brought joyful tears to my eyes and we hugged. Her stamp is the red heart that asks “what’s your story “

We also met up with other Camino family. L to R : Deb, Pepper, Amy, me and Jo!

Tomorrow we head to Ribadiso, only 3 days left, it’s bittersweet, I want to finish and go home…. But I will miss Spain.

Buen Camino!
